Pet Laser Therapy

Low-level lasers are increasing in popularity in veterinary medicine because of their variety of uses which improve patient comfort and promote healing. They work by emitting a low frequency of light that penetrates the skin without causing pain or damage. The cells absorb this light energy and convert it to cell energy. This suppresses pain and reduces inflammatory pathways.

  • Therapeutic laser is useful for a variety of conditions, including the management of both chronic pain (osteoarthritis, disc disease, tendonitis) and acute pain (sprains/strains/inflammation/acute trauma).
  • It promotes wound healing, including lacerations, burns, and puncture wounds.
  • The laser helps treat infections, including infections of the ear, sinuses, feet, anal glands, bladder, mouth, and gastrointestinal tract.
  • It is also useful for post-surgical therapy, including use on surgical incisions and dental extractions, as an aid in orthopedic/soft tissue recovery, and reducing post-surgical swelling.
