Pet Echocardiogram
A heart ultrasound is known as an echocardiogram (or echo). This procedure is one of the least intrusive and most efficient techniques to look at the structure of the heart and observe how it works in real-time. We may recommend an echo if your pet has a heart murmur.
The heart has four chambers, each separated from the others by a valve. These valves seal properly to maintain blood flow in the desired direction. Using echocardiography, our veterinarians may determine whether the heart’s walls are thickened, its chambers are enlarged, and its valves are in good condition. The blood pressure in the veins leading to and from the heart can also be checked to see if it is normal.
